Patna. Two girls died due to drowning while bathing in the Ganga at Naya Tola Khirodharpur Ghat in Khusrupur police station area of the capital Patna. A girl was saved safely by the local people. After the local people present at the ghat informed the police about the incident, the police reached the spot and recovered the bodies of the two girls drowned in the Ganga with the help of local divers.
The police have taken both the bodies in their custody and sent them to Nalanda Medical College for post-mortem. The deceased has been identified as Anisha Kumari, 14-year-old daughter of late Sudhir Yadav, resident of Harnaut in Nalanda district, while the other deceased has been identified as Neha Kumari, 12-year-old daughter of Dinesh Singh, resident of Thegua, Fatuha police station area.
It is said that Anisha Kumari and Neha Kumari along with another member of their family had come to Naya Tola Ghat to take a bath in the Ganga. When they could not estimate the depth of the river while bathing, all three started drowning in the Ganga. The local people present at the ghat saved a girl safely. Whereas Anisha Kumari and Neha Kumari were washed away in the strong current of Ganga.
When asked about the incident, Dinesh Kumar, the family member of the deceased, said that it is known that Anisha Kumari and Neha Kumari had come to Khirodharpur in Khusrupur to attend the wedding ceremony of their cousin brother Kundan Kumar. Meanwhile, both of them became victims of an accident while taking bath in Ganga. Khusrupur police station’s policeman Sunny Kumar, who was present on the spot, confirmed the incident and reiterated that both the bodies were recovered with the help of local divers. After the incident, there is chaos in the family of the deceased, the family members are in bad condition and crying.
