Half of the journey of RRTS is complete, and the distance between Delhi and Meerut will be reduced, Sunday is a special day

New Delhi. 18 August 2024 is going to be a big day for the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS). The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has made a big announcement regarding RRTS. The 8 km long stretch of RRTS will be made operational from Sunday. Meerut South RRTS station will be opened for the general public. It is expected to provide a lot of relief to the people. With the operationalization of Meerut South station, Namo Bharat trains will start running on 42 km track out of the 82 km long RRTS stretch.

NCRTC said that Meerut South RRTS station will open for passengers from Sunday. According to the information given on Saturday, with this, a 42 km long part of the 82 km long Regional Rapid Transit System will become operational. This means that more than half of the stretch of RRTS will become operational. NCRTC said that Meerut South RRTS station will open for passengers on Sunday at 2 pm. With this 8 km section, a total of 42 km of Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor is now operational. This also includes 9 stations of Sahibabad.

Big news about RRTS, special facilities will be available from Delhi to Meerut, special discounts on these two stations

RRTS project will be completed by the year 2025
There is an effort to improve traffic in Delhi and surrounding areas through RRTS. Its purpose is that people can reach their destination in less time. Currently, 34 km RRTS corridor is operational from Sahibabad to Modinagar North. Common people are enjoying the journey by boarding the Namo Bharat train. After the Meerut South RRTS station becomes operational, another 8 km will be added to it. Officials said that the entire 82 km long Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor will be fully operational by June 2025.

Ticket Booking
NCRTC has signed an agreement with IRCTC to facilitate the journey of passengers traveling in Namo Bharat trains on the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS (Regional Rapid Transit System) corridor. Under this agreement, Namo Bharat train tickets can now also be booked on IRCTC’s platform through the One India-One Ticket initiative. The agreement between Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS and Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited aims to provide a seamless travel solution to passengers, making it easier for passengers to use both Indian Railways and RRTS services.
