8 Israeli soldiers killed in South Gaza.
Jerusalem: Despite being completely destroyed in Gaza by continuous Israeli army attacks, the morale of Hamas terrorists has not been broken. This time Hamas has killed 8 Israeli soldiers in South Gaza. The Israeli army said on Saturday that eight of its soldiers were killed in an explosion in southern Gaza. This was the deadliest attack in the last several months. Saturday’s blast took place in the southern Rafah city.
Israel considers Rafah to be the last major stronghold of Hamas. This attack will probably give a boost to the demand for ceasefire being made by Israeli protesters. This attack has come at a time when the government is facing widespread anger over giving exemption to ultra-Orthodox youth from military service. Israel and Palestine have been fighting for more than eight months. On October 7 last year, 1200 people were killed and 250 people were taken hostage in the attack carried out by Hamas and other terrorists. After this, Israel started the war against Hamas.
Israeli Foreign Minister paid tribute to the sacrifice of soldiers
“They knew they might have to sacrifice their lives but they did it so we could live in this country. I salute them and hug their families,” Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz said in a post on X. The Israeli military said the blast occurred in the Tal al-Sultan area of Rafah at 5 p.m. Israeli military spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari said the blast was caused by an explosive or an antitank missile planted by Hamas. “We need to defeat the Hamas Rafah Brigade and we are doing it with determination,” he said. In January, 21 Israeli soldiers were killed in an attack by Palestinian militants in Gaza. (AP)
