New Delhi. The National Democratic Party (RLP) supremo and Nagaur MP Hanuman Beniwal has made serious allegations against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on the sudden resignation by Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar. Beniwal has directly stated that the resignation of Dhankhar, citing health reasons, is actually “dilated” by the BJP, which means that he was pressured to step down. MP Beniwal, while talking to the media in Delhi today, argued behind his claim. He said that if the Vice President’s resignation would have been really due to health reasons and it had been voluntarily given, Prime Minister Narendra Modi would definitely request him to rethink his decision. According to Beniwal, the Prime Minister’s silence is an indication that this decision is the result of political pressure.
Beniwal also reminded that he himself stood with Jagdeep Dhankhar during the Vice President’s election, despite being opposed to the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). He said that he had voted for Dhankhar keeping in mind the social and regional representation. However, Beniwal also added that after obtaining the post, Dhankhar several times exposed his internal political ambitions. The comment points to some recent public statements of Dhankhar, often seen politically. The RLP supremo has demanded Jagdeep Dhankhar to give immediate public clarification on the matter.
Beniwal warned that if Dhankar did not give an early clarification on his resignation on the alleged pressure of the BJP, the public would consider any explanation given after six months to gain “cheap popularity”. Beniwal’s statement comes at a time when the opposition is continuously questioning the sudden resignation of the Vice President, and it can give rise to a new political controversy for the BJP.
