Chandigarh. Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Saini will contest the assembly by-elections. BJP has declared him as its candidate for Karnal Assembly by-election. Voting for the by-election will be held on May 25 along with the Lok Sabha elections. Karnal Assembly seat became vacant after the resignation of former CM Manohar Lal. Manohar Lal Khattar is the BJP candidate from Karnal Lok Sabha seat. Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini is currently the President of Haryana BJP and is also an MP from Kurukshetra Lok Sabha seat.
Responding to his candidature, CM Nayab Saini wrote, ‘Heartfelt thanks to Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi, National President JP Nadda, Home Minister Amit Shah and former Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and the entire central leadership for making me the BJP candidate in the Karnal Assembly by-election. Gratitude.’
The decision to contest the elections of Naib Singh Saini had already been taken. Now by announcing this, BJP has given ticket from Karnal Assembly in the by-election. BJP has fully entered the electoral fray in Haryana. BJP first announced the names of ten Lok Sabha candidates. Now, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has also been fielded in the by-election from Karnal Assembly. At present Naib Singh Saini is MP from Kurukshetra Lok Sabha. For him, former Chief Minister Manohar Lal had resigned from Karnal Assembly.
Naib Singh Saini can remain on the post of Chief Minister for 6 months without becoming a member of the Legislative Assembly. In such a situation, before September 11, he will either have to contest elections from some seat and become an MLA or leave the post of CM. Due to this, former Chief Minister Manohar Lal had given up his seat and resigned from the legislature.
