The investigative teams have seized documents relating to the purchase and sale of properties and investments by the Mangala Group during the last three years. Information about the market value of these properties and the price recorded in the documents is being collected.
The Income Tax Department had received information that irregularities were being done in the business of Hariprakash Mangla, a Sonepat-based businessman, who is doing business in association with his relatives and partners. On which at around 7 am on Wednesday morning, dozens of teams of Income Tax Department raided the establishments located in Sector-14 of Sector-14, Kothi number-119 of Hariprakash Mangla, owner of Gateway Educational Institute and city’s big businessman, and other cities including Delhi.
Officers and employees from around 60-70 vehicles reached Mangla’s establishments and started investigation. The team boarding five Innova vehicles reached Mangala’s kothi and investigated throughout the day. The raids on Mangla continued to be discussed throughout the day in the city. According to Income Tax Department sources, simultaneous action has been initiated at about 42 locations. After which there was a stir among the traders and industrialists. Records are being checked at about 12 places in Sonipat itself.
Records also searched at CA’s house
The Income Tax Department team spent the day scrutinizing records at Hariprakash Mangala, his son, relatives, besides his CA’s house, Gateway Educational Institute, Cold Store, University and other establishments living in street number six of Patel Nagar. The team investigated in the tehsil premises. He also went to the kiosk of the person who wrote the deed for the registry of Mangla’s lands and inquired.
Captured the record of trading in three years
It is being told that the teams of Income Tax Department have captured the records of purchases and investments made by Mangala Group in three years. The Income Tax Department is expected to find many irregularities. The team of Income Tax Department says that not only in Haryana but also in other states have invested in property. There was also a complaint of tax malpractices through the educational institution. The team has gathered records of the returns filed during the last three years and the value of their existing properties. Information is also being collected about their loans and investments.
Checked records by visiting about 12 places in Sonipat
According to sources from the Income Tax Department, the process of raiding and checking records at 12 locations of Mangala and his associates has been done in Sonipat itself. Among them, teams of Income Tax Department have camped at Hariprakash’s residence, Gateway Institute, Utsav Garden, and other associates’ locations.
About 300 personnel arrived in more than 60 vehicles
It is being told that about 300 officers and employees of Income Tax have reached Sonipat in more than 60 vehicles. Along with this, about 30 police personnel are also accompanying from Gurugram. The Income Tax Department team is closely investigating.
