New Delhi. Bangladesh’s former PM Sheikh Hasina may have come to India to save her life amid the ongoing violent protests in her country, but despite this, PM Modi’s government is not considering giving her asylum. According to the news received by AnyTV from sources, Sheikh Hasina can stay in India for a long time. However, she will not stay in India under refugee status. She will have to take a visa to stay in India. Currently, Hasina is staying at the Indian Air Force’s Hindon Airbase located in Ghaziabad adjacent to Delhi. An interim government has now been formed in Bangladesh under the leadership of Mohammad Yunus.
Sheikh Hasina had resigned from the post of PM before fleeing Bangladesh. After which the army of the neighboring country arranged for Hasina to come to India. After this, the protesters were also seen entering the PM House and creating a ruckus. There were reports that Hasina is seeking asylum in Britain. Where her sister Sheikh Rehana’s daughter Tulip Siddiqui lives. She is also a member of the British Labor Party and the British Parliament. However, the situation regarding this has not been clear yet. The US has also reportedly canceled Hasina’s visa. She is now exploring her options for asylum in the UAE and European countries.
An official source said, “It is not yet possible for Sheikh Hasina to go safely to any country. India does not have asylum or refugee laws. Such laws have not been made in India deliberately. The legal position is that we cannot keep anyone in refugee or asylum status. The Dalai Lama is here due to government policy. Refugee laws are creating problems all over the world. Once you give refugee and asylum status, they demand their rights and go to court. This creates more problems. We allow stay on a case-by-case basis, but we do not have any such law.”
