1 large onion, finely chopped, 1 cup tamarind paste, 1/2 cup water, 1/4 cup brown sugar, 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin, 1/4 teaspoon ground coriander, salt, to taste, 1-2 dried red chillies,

How to make Onion and Tamarind Chutney?

1. Turn on the gas and heat oil in a pan on medium flame. Now add chopped onion in this oil and fry it till it becomes golden brown.

2. When the onions turn golden brown, add tamarind paste, 1/2 cup water, 1/4 cup brown sugar, 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin, 1/4 teaspoon ground coriander, salt to taste, 1-2 dried red chillies and mix them well.

3. Now let it cook till it boils. When it boils, reduce the flame and cook for 10-15 minutes or until the chutney thickens.

4. After 15 minutes, turn off the gas. Your spicy tamarind chutney is ready. Remove it from the gas and let it cool.

5. You can also store this chutney. When the chutney cools down, fill it in an airtight container and keep it in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
