New Delhi, The problems for Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal are increasing day by day. After the decision of the Rouse Avenue Court, it seemed that he would probably come out of Tihar. But after the hearing in the High Court, the matter became more complicated. Firstly, the High Court reserved the decision. The date of when the decision will come is not decided. Second, the High Court has also issued a notice to Kejriwal. In such a situation, let alone getting bail, a decision is yet to be taken on whether the bail granted by the Rouse Avenue Court should be completely stopped or not.
Rouse Avenue Court granted bail to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, but the very next day there was a twist in the case. ED reached the High Court. It filed an appeal challenging the bail granted to Kejriwal. It also argued that the decision of Rouse Avenue Court should be stayed until the appeal is heard. That is, the bail granted to Kejriwal should be stopped. On Friday, only the stay was heard in the High Court. The appeal will be heard after that.
The decision on the stay will come now
The High Court has issued a notice to Kejriwal on ED’s appeal. Along with this, the decision on whether the decision of the Rouse Avenue Court will be stayed during the hearing of the appeal will come in the next two or three days. That is, the decision of the High Court now will be only on the stay, not on the appeal. Hearing on the appeal will take a lot of time. If the High Court grants a stay, then Arvind Kejriwal will not come out. The Chief Minister of Delhi will remain in jail during the hearing of ED’s appeal. But if the Rouse Avenue Court does not grant a stay on the decision, then the way for Kejriwal to come out of jail will be clear.
won’t be able to get out of jail until then
Till the decision on whether the High Court will stay the lower court’s decision or not is taken, the order of the Rouse Avenue Court will remain stayed. That means Kejriwal will not be able to come out of jail till then. Before this, Kejriwal and ED’s lawyers fiercely debated in the court. ED argued in the court that they have sufficient evidence that Kejriwal is the mastermind in the case. His being in a constitutional post is not a basis for granting bail. We have caught a money trail of Rs 45 crore. It has also been shown that this money was used in the Goa elections. On the other hand, Abhishek Manu Singhvi and Vikram gave strong arguments on behalf of Kejriwal. They said, ED has no evidence against Kejriwal. Looking at the statements of the witnesses, it seems that they gave statements under pressure. After hearing long arguments, the court has reserved the decision.
