HD Kumaraswamy’s health suddenly deteriorated

Union Minister and JDS leader HD Kumaraswamy was hospitalised on Sunday after he suffered a nose bleed. He was on stage to attend a press conference in Bengaluru when he suddenly started bleeding from his nose. He was seen stopping the bleeding with a handkerchief. He was rushed to Jayanagar Apollo Hospital and kept under observation for a few hours. He was discharged after treatment. HD Kumaraswamy’s health deteriorated after he attended a coordination committee meeting with JDS and BJP leaders at a hotel in Bengaluru.

Speaking to the media after being discharged from the hospital and returning to his residence, the Union Minister said, “I have undergone heart valve replacement surgery thrice and I take blood thinners to prevent clots. Nosebleeds are common when I am under stress and do not get enough rest. Doctors have advised me to take rest.” He said no one needs to worry. He also requested party workers and supporters to remain calm.

“No need to worry”

The Union minister said as long as I have your good wishes, God’s grace and parents’ blessings, there is no danger. “People have sent me to Delhi with trust. I will not break that trust. No one needs to worry. I need to take some rest,” he said. “92-year-old former prime minister H D Devegowda (his father) will raise the Cauvery issue in Parliament tomorrow. The DMK and other members will try to create disruptions. I have to be there with him,” he said.

“My health is not too bad”

HD Kumaraswamy said, “I will monitor my condition overnight and decide whether to go to Delhi or not. My health is not too bad, so I can participate in the ‘padayatra’ to be held after a week. If I am unable to participate, Nikhil Kumaraswamy will join the padayatra along with the MLAs. There is no need for party workers to worry.” (IANS)
