Mohammad Shariful Islam Shehzad, accused of attacking Saif with a knife, filed a bail plea in the Mumbai session court on 29 March. The accused said that he is innocent and a false case has been registered against him.
It is noteworthy that Saif was attacked in his Bandra house on the morning of 16 January. The accused allegedly attacked his youngest son Jeh’s room and attacked him. The actor was hurt at many places. Despite his injuries, Saif himself reached the hospital with his son Taimur.
Shariful Islam Shahzad, in a petition filed through his lawyer, claimed that the FIR was wrongly filed and he has fully supported the police investigation.
His legal team says that since all the evidence is already with the police, there is no danger of molestation from them, he should be granted bail.
At present, the case is going on in the Bandra Magistrate Court, which comes under the jurisdiction of the Mumbai Sessions Court. Once the police will file a charge sheet, the matter will be transferred to the sessions court. However, the charge sheet has not been filed yet.
According to media reports, the doctors had removed a 2.5 -inch knife from Saif’s wound. The actor had six knives wounds on his body, two of which were serious, which were near his spine.
