Something similar happened with 19 year old Ayesha Rashan and her family living in Pakistan. Ayesha suffered from heart disease. He was put on ECMO. Ayesha Rashan’s family was told by doctors in Pakistan that if their daughter was to be kept alive, she would have to undergo a heart transplant. In such a situation, Ayesha’s family members were very worried. Finally he decided to try his luck by coming to India and contacted MGM Healthcare in Chennai.
According to the news published in the English newspaper Indian Express, Ayesha Rashan was first brought to India by her family members in 2019 and then the doctors told that her heart could stop beating at any time. Ayesha was kept on ECMO since then, so that she could be kept alive. Ayesha had leakage in a valve of her heart. Eventually Ayesha finds a dead man’s heart. Which was put in MGM Healthcare, Chennai. Ayesha Rashan’s heart transplant cost more than Rs 35 lakh. Not a single rupee of this had to be given to his family. All these expenses have been borne by Chennai Hospital and Aishwaryaam Trust. Dr. KR Balakrishnan and Dr. Suresh Rao, who transplanted Ayesha’s heart, told that the heart of a 69-year-old deceased man from Delhi has been transplanted to the girl from Pakistan.
Rashan and his mother Sanobar have thanked the Government of India. Ayesha and Sanobar told that health services are not good in Pakistan. He told that doctors in Pakistan had said that heart transplant cannot be done. Ayesha is fine now and returning to Pakistan. She wants to become a fashion designer when she grows up. Earlier in the year 2018, Pakistan hockey team goalkeeper Mansoor Ahmed had expressed his desire to undergo heart transplant in India. Then his age was 49 years. Mansoor’s heart disease had worsened due to the pacemaker and stent.
