New Delhi. On the day of Mahashivratri, a heart-wrenching incident happened in Kota, Rajasthan. Here, 14 children got burnt due to electric shock during Shivratri procession. All the children have been admitted to MBS Hospital, where the condition of some is said to be critical. According to local people, this accident happened due to negligence of the electricity department.

During the Shiv procession taken out on the occasion of Shivratri, the flag held by the children touched the high tension line, after which electric current spread in the procession. The incident occurred near Kunhadi Thermal intersection in Kota at around 12:30 pm. There was hue and cry at the spot after the accident. People hurriedly took the children to the hospital.
It is being told that during the procession in Sakatpur Kali Basti, the place where this major accident took place, the wires of the high tension power line were very low. This is why children get electrocuted. Energy Minister Hiralal Nagar has ordered officials to reach the hospital and investigate the incident.
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has also reached the hospital after receiving information about the accident. According to Kota City SP Dr. Amrita Duhan, the condition of three children is critical, who are being referred to Jaipur. Om Birla reached the hospital and inquired about the well-being of the injured. Expressing grief over the incident, the Speaker said that he will get the incident investigated. If children whose condition is more serious need to be referred to even the biggest hospital, they will definitely be referred. At present, children are getting better treatment here also.
