Jaipur. In Rajasthan, which is burning in the scorching heat, there is chaos over water amid deaths due to heat stroke. There is a fight over water in many areas including the capital Jaipur. Angry people are climbing on the tanks at midnight due to non-availability of drinking water. They are opening the valves themselves. In Jodhpur, today a person climbed on the water tank with a bottle of petrol due to non-resolution of the water problem. There is also a ruckus over electricity. The unannounced power cuts in many areas have made life miserable for the people.
Residents of ward number 14 of Vishwakarma Industrial Area of the capital Jaipur burst out in anger after not getting adequate water for 25 days. When the drinking water supply was not improved despite repeated complaints to the officials of the water supply department, the local women and men created a ruckus at the water tank early on Friday. Reaching the Sita Vihar water tank of ward number 14, the local residents demanded adequate drinking water supply from the pump operator and the employees of the drinking water supply company. But when the employees expressed their disagreement, the angry people themselves opened the valve of the tank and started the water supply.
The women camped on the tank itself
Seeing the uproar increasing, the officials of the water supply department gave instructions to continue the drinking water supply. But instead of following the instructions of the officials, the employees of the company supplying drinking water stopped the drinking water supply after a while. This again led to an uproar there. After stopping the water from the tank of Sita Vihar, the local women have camped below the tank. Seeing the protest of women at the tank and the tense situation regarding water, the local police reached the spot. Local public representatives have warned that if the water supply system is not improved soon, the departmental officials may have to face the anger of the people.
