Heat wave continues across the country. There is severe heat wave in many states, for which the Meteorological Department has issued an alert. The mercury has crossed 45 degrees in different parts of many states. According to the latest update of the Meteorological Department, a red alert of heat wave has been issued for Odisha and West Bengal. At the same time, the possibility of heatwave situation has been expressed in many other parts of the country also.
The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert regarding heavy rain in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh on Monday. Heatwave conditions will persist over Bihar, Jharkhand, Rayalaseema, Interior Karnataka and Tamil Nadu during the next four days. At the same time, similar weather conditions will prevail in Kerala and Uttar Pradesh during April 29 to 30, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam during April 30 to May 1.
Rain with thunder in many states
The weather department has also predicted light rain and thundershowers over the northeastern states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, eastern Meghalaya, Nagaland and Manipur between April 29 and 30. Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely over Sikkim from April 29 to May 1. Rain and snowfall is possible at many places in Ladakh, Jammu Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh.
Alert issued for the people of Jammu and Kashmir
There may be heavy rain and snowfall at different places in Jammu and Kashmir on 29th to 30th April. In view of the inclement weather, the people of the district in general and particularly those living on the left and right banks of river Jhelum and its tributaries and drains have been advised to avoid going in and around these water bodies. Avoid and limit your activities until the weather improves.
At the same time, light rain is possible in Uttarakhand. Rain and storm are possible in parts of Telangana, Chhattisgarh and South Odisha. Light to moderate rain and thundershowers with isolated hailstorm may occur over northern parts of Punjab. Light rain and storm is possible in northern Haryana and north-western Rajasthan. There may be light scattered rain in Kerala.
