Patna. Heat wave continues to wreak havoc across Bihar. Heat wave strike was seen before the last phase of voting for Lok Sabha elections 2024. 6 workers engaged in election work in the state died today. Two workers died in Chapra. In Bhojpur district also, three workers engaged in election work fell victim to heat wave and doctors declared them dead. Heat wave effect was also seen in Arwal district. More than 40 election workers including 15 employees fell ill. All are being treated at Sadar Hospital.
The highest temperature was recorded in Chhapra today and the mercury reached close to 43 degrees. More than 25 patients reached the hospital for treatment. Two unidentified people were brought to the hospital for treatment from the airport of Mufassil police station area and Nagar police station area where both of them died while being brought there. It is being told that both were posted on election duty. The people of Chhapra also looked helpless due to the scorching heat. Schools in the district have also been closed till June 8.
Three workers engaged in election work also died in Bhojpur district
In Bhojpur district too, three workers engaged in election work died due to heat wave. Voting for Ara Lok Sabha is to be held on June 1. Along with that, votes are to be cast for Agiaon assembly by-election as well. Today, three people engaged in election work in the district suddenly fell victim to heat wave. They were immediately admitted to Sadar Hospital in Ara, where doctors declared all three dead. There was an atmosphere of chaos for a long time due to the incident.
Voting is to be held on June 1 in the last phase in Sasaram Lok Sabha. In such a situation, on Thursday, 4 people including a worker on election duty in Kaimur district died due to heat stroke. 30 to 40 people including several policemen are admitted in the hospital. Dr. Sahil Raj, a doctor at Mohania sub-divisional hospital, while giving information said that a total of about 40 people had come to the sub-divisional hospital. Here 2 people including an election worker died due to heat stroke. 30 to 40 policemen are undergoing treatment.

In the last 24 hours, 19 people have died of heat stroke in the whole of Bihar. Voting for the last phase of eight Lok Sabha seats of Bihar is to be held on June 1.
