New Delhi: While the temperature is increasing in the states of North India and South India, on the other hand, there is heavy rain in the North-Eastern states. The Meteorological Department has issued a heat wave warning till April 6 in Jharkhand, North Interior Karnataka, Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Rayalaseema, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam. Apart from this, increase in temperature is being seen in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Strong sunshine is being seen during the day. The weather will also be hot in Kerala, Mahe, Telangana, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry and Karaikal.
Warning of rain and snowfall in northeastern states
The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy rain in Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya till April 7. Snowfall may also occur in Arunachal Pradesh. Heavy rain is expected in Assam and Meghalaya on 4 and 6 April. The Meteorological Department said that rain and storm activity is likely to continue in the northeastern states till April 7.
Relief from heat from the people of Delhi
The national capital on Tuesday recorded its lowest minimum temperature for the month of April for the fourth time in 12 years, amid the India Meteorological Department (IMD) warning of extreme heat in the country between April and June. The minimum temperature recorded on Tuesday was 15.8 degrees Celsius, which is three degrees Celsius below normal. IMD data shows that this is the fourth time since 2012 that the minimum temperature in April has been recorded as the lowest. According to the data, the minimum temperature was recorded at 14.1 degrees on April 8, 2023, 11.7 degrees on April 3, 2021 and 14.4 degrees Celsius on April 4, 2020.
It will be cloudy in Delhi-NCR
Mahesh Pahlawat, vice president of meteorology and climate change at private weather agency ‘Sky Met Weather’, said that this respite from the heat for the residents of the national capital is temporary and the minimum temperature will increase in the next few days. He said, “This is a relief of one or two days, because the western disturbance is coming again which will change the direction of the winds. When north-westerly winds blow and the sky is clear, it becomes cold overnight due to which the minimum temperature falls. Pahlawat said, “Due to the effect of western disturbance on April 3 and 5, the sky of Delhi-NCR may become cloudy. This may reduce the maximum temperature.
Alert of light rain in some parts of Delhi
According to IMD, the temperature is likely to increase by three to four degrees Celsius in the next few days. The minimum temperature may be recorded at 18 degrees Celsius on Wednesday while it may increase to 20 degrees Celsius on Thursday and Friday. At the same time, the maximum temperature can also remain between 33 to 36 degrees Celsius. IMD said that there may be light rain in some parts of Delhi on Wednesday and Friday.
