Heat wave continues in North India
Heat wave continues in the country’s capital Delhi and North Indian states. Prayagraj was the hottest city on Friday, where the maximum temperature was recorded at 46.9 degrees Celsius. At the same time, the maximum temperature in Delhi, Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh was also close to 45 degrees Celsius. Similar weather is expected in Delhi and North Indian states for the next few days. However, people of Central India may get relief from the heat.
Monsoon may arrive in six states on June 15. This may provide relief from heat to the people here. However, in most of the states, monsoon is arriving only in the southern part and it will take some time to spread across the entire state.
Rain forecast in five states including Madhya Pradesh
According to the Meteorological Department, monsoon may knock in Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Bihar on June 15. Due to this, there are chances of rain in all these states and people may get some relief from the heat. In all these states, the mercury was around 45 degrees Celsius on Friday. Monsoon is knocking in the southern part of Madhya Pradesh. In such a situation, it may still take some time to get relief from the heat in a city like Gwalior.
Some relief in Delhi
The temperature in the national capital dropped due to light rain and strong winds late at night. Rain was already expected here. More than the rain, the winds brought down the mercury. This brought some relief to the people of Delhi. However, the heat will continue to wreak havoc in the coming days. Monsoon is expected to reach Delhi by the end of June.
