Ranchi. Heavy rains in the capital Ranchi for the last 48 hours have created flood-like conditions in the lower areas. Bandhgadi area of Deepa Toli has completely submerged in rain water. The situation became so bad that the NDRF team had to reach for rescue. The NDRF team rescued 22 people. According to the local people, such a situation has never occurred in this area in the last 22 years.
In Ratu Road area of the city, people’s anger against the Municipal Corporation was seen on the streets. People protested against the government and the Municipal Corporation by doing Jal Satyagraha. The rain in Ranchi exposed the preparations of the Municipal Corporation. Earlier, many claims were made by the Municipal Corporation regarding cleaning of drains, but those claims were washed away in the first rain of monsoon. The situation is similar in almost all the areas of the capital. Which areas are facing the most problems?
Flood like situation has arisen in Deepa Toli area of Bandhgari in the capital Ranchi. Water entered many houses. NDRF team was called for rescue. NDRF conducted rescue operation and took 35 people to a safe place. Peepar Toli area of Argora has also been submerged. Flood like situation is also there in River View Colony of Hatia. The upper mohalla and the lower mohalla of River View Colony have lost contact with each other. The condition is also bad in Kokar, Ratu Road area and Harmu area. The road in Panch Sheel Nagar of Ratu Road has become a pond and people are imprisoned in their homes. The condition of Mandar area of Ranchi is also bad. The diversion has been damaged due to excessive rain in the National Highway going from Kudu to Ranchi. Entry of vehicles has been banned. An alternative route has been provided.
1. Turn right from Brambe Chowk and take Pali Road to Haji Chowk Ring Road.
2. Turn left from Brambe Chowk and take University Road, Thakurgaon Ratu Road and then exit at Kathitad Chowk.
Red alert issued for heavy rain
The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for extremely heavy rains at some places in Garhwa, Palamu, Chatra, Latehar, Lohardaga, Hazaribagh and Gumla districts of the state. At the same time, the department has issued an orange alert regarding the possibility of heavy rains at some places in Koderma, Giridih, Bokaro, Ramgarh, Ranchi, Khunti and Simdega. Heavy rains are likely at some places in Deoghar and Jamtara districts of the state.
