New Delhi: Many states including Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand may receive heavy rains on August 1. According to the Meteorological Department, UP, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Maharashtra and Delhi may receive heavy rains during the next 24 hours. Chhattisgarh as well as its neighbouring states Odisha and eastern Madhya Pradesh are also likely to receive heavy rains and thunderstorms on Thursday.

According to the Meteorological Department, Konkan, Goa, East Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, West Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura and Odisha are all expected to receive extremely heavy rains. Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Odisha, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Sikkim and Gujarat are likely to receive heavy rainfall. Light to moderate rains may occur at many places.

Heavy rain alert in Uttarakhand for next two days

Heavy rain is falling in Uttarakhand these days. Due to this, waterlogging has occurred in many areas. The Meteorological Department has said that heavy rain will continue in most parts of the state for the next two-three days. Due to continuous heavy rain from mountains to plains, incidents of landslides are taking place. Rivers and streams are in spate.

Director of Meteorological Department Bikram Singh said that there will be good rain for the next two-three days. There will be waterlogging in all the plains including Haridwar. People living in low-lying areas need to be especially careful. There will be sunshine during the day, but there will be heavy rain at night. There will be a lot of rain in a short time. Heavy rain can occur in just one or two hours.
