Heavy rains expected in 25 states including UP-Bihar today, IMD issues orange alert in 10 states

New Delhi. Heavy to very heavy rain is expected at isolated places in eastern Uttar Pradesh, Gangetic plains of West Bengal, Jharkhand, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal, Kerala and Mahe and Lakshadweep today. According to the IMD, about 12 cm of rain is expected in these states. In view of this, the IMD has issued an orange alert in all these states. According to the IMD, heavy rain may occur at isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Western Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Bihar, Odisha, Assam, Meghalaya, Marathwada, Madhya Maharashtra, Konkan and Goa, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, Coastal Karnataka, South Interior Karnataka. About 7 cm of rain is expected in these states.
