There is a ruckus over the paper leak of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). Opposition parties are constantly attacking the central government. The truth of the NEET paper leak scandal was revealed by a phone call, in which many big names are now coming under suspicion. Actually, on May 5, about three hours before the start of NEET-UG examination, Patna Police received a phone call. The caller did not reveal his name, but just said that four criminals are going towards their hideout in an SUV. The incomplete information received from this phone call exposed the entire scam in the medical entrance examination.
The team of Shastri Nagar police station of Patna took immediate action on the information received on the phone and caught the four people in the SUV. When they were questioned forcefully, they took the policemen to another place where 30 candidates appearing for NEET-UG were staying. These people had allegedly paid Rs 30 to 50 lakh for the leaked NEET paper and its answers. Police said that all these people were kept in Ram Krishna Nagar, where they were made to memorize all the answers overnight.
All the answers of NEET exam were memorized overnight
According to the police, the four people arrested from the SUV were given the task of making the students memorize all the answers overnight and then dropping them at their exam center. After the first arrest in the case, the police raided several places, where the police found 13 roll numbers in the safe house. Then within about an hour, several police teams reached the NEET exam centers. The police caught four students from there and after interrogating them, they found nine more names, including Sikandar Yadavendu, a junior engineer in Danapur Nagar Parishad.
Yadavendu had allegedly provided the NEET question papers and answers to candidates for memorisation on May 4. On May 6, the police recovered burnt question papers from Yadavendu’s flat and then the next day, 13 people, including parents of some students, were detained. After the matter escalated, the case was handed over to the EOU on May 11.
The unit’s DIG Manavjit Singh Dhillon was tasked with leading the investigation. During interrogation, Yadavendu and two others allegedly behind the paper leak – Nitish Kumar and Amit Anand – confessed to the leak. Amit and Nitish had received the question paper on their WhatsApp from a NEET exam centre in Hazaribagh on May 4, a day before the exam.
“Photocopies of the question papers were given to the candidates and they were asked to memorise the answers. The duplicate question papers were later collected in the morning and burnt,” an official said.
Who is the kingpin of NEET paper leak scandal?
The big name in this NEET paper leak case is Sanjeev Singh alias Sanjeev Mukhiya, who is said to be the mastermind of this entire case. Mukhiya is originally a resident of Nagarnausa in Nalanda, Bihar. Danapur Municipal Council’s Junior Engineer Sikandar Kumar Yadavendu, who was arrested by Patna Police in the NEET paper leak case, had named Sanjeev Mukhiya, on the basis of which the Shastri Nagar police station had registered a case against him. At present, Sanjeev Mukhiya is absconding and the Economic Offenses Unit i.e. EOU is conducting raids to arrest him.
Sanjeev Mukhiya is a big name in the solver gang and he has been handling the solver gang for one and a half to two decades. Sanjeev Mukhiya’s son Dr Shiv is a doctor by profession and if sources are to be believed, it was with the help of the solver gang that Dr Shiv was able to qualify MBBS. Today, Dr Shiv has also been arrested in the teacher paper leak case and is lodged in Beur jail in Patna.
10 doctors and 2 solvers solved the NEET paper
Meanwhile, a professor is also on the radar of EOU. According to sources, EOU’s investigation has revealed that the burnt question paper has a booklet number of 6136488. This booklet number belongs to a centre in Hazaribagh. If sources are to be believed, this question paper came on Sanjeev Mukhiya’s mobile from a professor’s number. Then this question paper was solved by 10 doctors of Ranchi’s RIMS hospital and two solvers from Patna. Then this solved question paper along with the answer sheet was sent to the mobile of Chintu, a resident of Karaiparsurai area. After that, the question paper was printed along with the answer sheet and distributed to the students already present at Learn Play School for memorizing.
In the NEET paper leak case, EOU has picked up a person named Rakesh from Ekangarasrai in Nalanda district. Rakesh is said to be a member of the solver gang. Rakesh is said to be associated with Sanjeev Mukhiya’s son Dr. Shiv.
