Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday attacked the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led central government for sending him to jail in Pehowa, Kurukshetra, Haryana, claiming that it was done because it was afraid of him. . He said this during the road show in Pehowa in support of AAP candidate Sushil Gupta. Gupta was also present on the road. On Friday, the Supreme Court had granted interim bail to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Kejriwal till June 1 in the money laundering case related to the alleged scam in Delhi Excise Policy.
Addressing the people, Kejriwal said, ‘Elections were announced on March 16 and on March 21 they sent me to jail. This means that they wanted Kejriwal not to campaign. They are scared of Kejriwal. Addressing the people in Pehowa, he said, ‘I have relatives in Pehowa. You will ask how. He said that the in-laws of my younger brother and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann are from Pehowa.

Kejriwal said, ‘His (Mann’s) father-in-law Inderjit Singh is with us today… Not a single vote should go to BJP from here.’ Bhagwant Mann’s wife Dr. Gurpreet Kaur is a resident of a village in Pehowa. This was Kejriwal’s first visit to Haryana after being released on bail. Aam Aadmi Party candidate Sushil Gupta, during the road show, highlighted several initiatives taken by the AAP government in Delhi and Punjab for the welfare of various sections. Voting will be held on May 25 in the sixth phase of Lok Sabha elections on all 10 Lok Sabha seats of Haryana.
