Gandhi Nagar police station of Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan, has arrested a thief from Basti district of Uttar Pradesh. Accused Sandeep Chaudhary (25) had stolen gold jewelery from his house by pretending to serve the elderly couple by becoming a servant in a flat in JKD Landmark Building, University Road in Gandhi Nagar police station area. The theft came to light on April 12, when a woman lodged a complaint with the police station.
Theft incident and complaint
In the complaint, the woman said that she lives in a flat in JKD Landmark Building. His mother-in-law lives in the same building, for which he kept a young man named Sandeep Chaudhary to take care of him. The accused broke his trust and stole gold jewelery from the house. The police arrested the accused a day before his marriage. Gold chains and bracelets worth about eight lakh rupees have been recovered from his possession.
Police investigation and arrest
Gandhi Nagar police station in -charge Ashutosh Singh said that Sandeep Verma is a resident of Basti district of Uttar Pradesh. He came to Jaipur in search of a job on 1 April. Between April 3 and April 9, he worked in the JKD Landmark Building. During this, he got a chance and stole a gold chain and two bracelets from the flat.
Police investigation also revealed that the accused was to be married on May 20 in Basti, Uttar Pradesh. On the basis of this information, the police arrested Sandeep from his house.
Stolen amount and recovery
The police have recovered the stolen jewelery from the possession of the accused, whose price is said to be around eight lakh rupees. The recovered jewelery includes a large gold chain and two bracelets. Police say that the accused has cheated their property by winning the trust of the elderly couple.

Police officer Ashutosh Singh said that a case of theft has been registered against the accused and he has been arrested. Further action is going on against the accused. He has also appealed to the public to keep an eye on the suspects around him and immediately inform the police about any such suspicious incident.
