Beijing: At least 36 people were killed after a section of a highway collapsed in southern China following heavy rains, sending several cars rolling down a slope. Meizhou city administration said that a 17.9 meter long section of the highway collapsed around 2 am on Wednesday, sending 23 vehicles into a pit. According to a government statement, 30 people have been injured in the accident. Parts of Guangdong province have experienced rain and flooding as well as hail over the past 2 weeks.
