Shimla. Many important decisions were taken in the Himachal Pradesh cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu. These include improvement in education sector, improving transport services and honoring teachers. The cabinet has approved the Directorate of Elementary Education to the Directorate of Elementary Education to the Directorate of School Education for the education system from pre-nursery to 12th standard. This will improve the administration and efficiency of the education system. The government spokesperson said that according to the decision taken in the cabinet, the Directorate of Higher Education will now manage all aspects of colleges as well as higher education. The right to free and compulsory education to children, Himachal Rules, 2011 will be amended to include the provisions of conducting the examination at the end of the fifth and eighth grade. If the students are unable to meet the parameters of the promotion, they will be given an additional opportunity for the re -examination within two months from the date of declaration of the result.
The spokesman said that keeping in mind the convenience of the passengers, the purchase of 297 type-1 electric buses and 24 air-conditioned super luxury buses has been approved in the fleet of Himachal Road Transport Corporation. This will make transport service more accessible and environmentally friendly. The cabinet has decided to launch Himachal Pradesh State Award Scheme for teachers in the Department of Technical Education. Under this scheme, 10 awards will be given in six categories. These awards will be given based on the performance of nominees in academic excellence, research and development, community engagement and outreach, sponsored research and industry-consistent cooperation.
Himachali certificates have been allowed to issue Himachali certificates to abandoned children living for 15 years or more in child care institutes in Himachal Pradesh. With this, these children will be able to apply for jobs and get the benefit of various schemes of the state government. It has been approved to purchase new vehicles to monitor and strengthen the enforcement system for effective control over illegal mining activities in the state.
The spokesperson said that HPPCL has been provided government guarantee in the context of fixed loans of Rs 1000 crore for smooth implementation of Shongtong-Kadacham Hydropower Project. The cabinet appreciated the services of Chief Secretary Prabodh Saxena, who are retiring this month. – Special Network
