According to the information, there are a total of five gates in Pandoh Dam and three of these gates are operational, while two gates are completely jammed due to silt trapped. However, three gates are still operational and water is being released from there when needed. The BBMB management is sweating due to the jamming of two gates of the dam. It is being told that these gates have been closed for the last three days. A technical team from Chandigarh has also reached Pandoh on Saturday morning to open these closed gates.
BBMB Chairman Manoj Tripathi has also reached the spot. The technical team is busy opening the closed gates. A lot of hard work is being done to remove the silt stuck in the gates. It is being told that machinery worth crores of rupees of BBMB Pandoh has been found damaged on the spot. Machinery has now been hired to run the work.

Information is also coming out that due to the gate being closed, the power generation in Dahar Power House has stopped since last night. Three gates were opened after the water level in the dam increased in the morning. Two gates were kept closed by BBMB which are now jammed due to silt filling. At present, very little water is coming into the Pandoh Dam from behind. If there is an incident of heavy rain or cloudburst in Kullu Manali, then in that situation water will be released by opening only three gates.
Although, these three gates have enough capacity to release water that they can empty the entire dam, but still opening the jammed gates is necessary from the security point of view. BBMB Chairman Manoj Tripathi, who reached the spot, confirmed that the gates are closed. However, he did not talk much to the media and said that right now the focus is on opening the gates and only after that he will talk in more detail.
