New Delhi. The political turmoil that started in Himachal Pradesh after the Rajya Sabha elections is still continuing. Under the current developments, three independent MLAs of Himachal, KL Thakur, Hoshiar Singh and Ashish Sharma have resigned from the membership of the Assembly. These MLAs have submitted their resignations to the Assembly Secretary. It is believed that all these three MLAs may soon join BJP.
It is noteworthy that in the Rajya Sabha elections held on February 27 in Himachal Pradesh, 6 rebel Congress MLAs had cross-voted in favor of BJP candidate Harsh Mahajan. At the same time, three independent MLAs of the state, Hoshiar Singh, KL Thakur and Ashish Sharma also voted in favor of BJP. After which Congress’s Abhishek Manu Singhvi lost the election. Since then, something or the other is being heard in the politics of Himachal every day. Now these three independent MLAs have resigned from the assembly membership. Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur was also present during the resignation. The three MLAs met Jairam Thakur in the Assembly. It is being told that these three will now meet the Governor and after that they will leave for Delhi where they will take membership of BJP.
Let us tell you that on June 1, Lok Sabha elections will be held on 4 seats in Himachal Pradesh and by-elections will be held on the seats vacated by 6 rebel Congress MLAs. In such a situation, due to the resignation of these three MLAs, currently 9 assembly constituency seats of the state have become vacant. At the same time, if BJP wins the elections on these seats, then clouds of crisis may surround the Sukhu government in the state. A few days ago, rebel Congress MLA Rajinder Rana had claimed that the Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu government of the state is going to fall very soon.
