Chandigarh In the investigation of Himachal Pradesh’s famous scholarship scam, the Assistant Director of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) Vishaldeep, arrested for demanding bribe, did not seem to be less difficult. The CBI court has rejected the bail plea filed by the accused for the third time. Vishaldeep is alleged to have been investigating the scholarship scam in Himachal and during this time he sought a bribe of Rs 2.5 crore from the operators of educational institutions for not taking action against him. After a thorough investigation on reaching the CBI, Vishaldeep as well as his brother Vikasdeep, a colleague Neeraj and CBI DSP Balbir Singh, who were posted in Delhi, were also arrested.
Although the accused has already been granted bail in another case of ransom lodged in Panchkula, but has not been able to get bail in the money laundering case lodged in the scholarship scam. The CBI strongly opposed the bail in the court, on which the court dismissed the bail plea and refused to give relief to the accused. – Special Network
