Canada Hindu Temple Vandalized: A Hindu temple has been targeted in Edmonton, the capital of Albert state in Canada. The temple was vandalized and anti-India slogans were also written. Khalistani supporters are being accused of this. Canadian MP Chandra Arya has expressed concern over the vandalism done at the BAPS Swaminarayan temple. He wrote in his post on the X platform, “During the last few years, Hindu temples in the Greater Toronto Area, British Columbia and other places in Canada are being vandalized with anti-India slogans.” BAPS Swaminarayan Temple is one of the largest Hindu temples in Canada.
‘Hindus are upset’
MP Arya further said, “As I have always been saying, Khalistani supporters easily get away with their public rhetoric of hatred and violence. I want to repeat it again. Hindus living in Canada are really upset.” He further said, “I once again call upon the law enforcement agencies of Canada to take this issue seriously. Before this rhetoric turns into attacks against Hindu Canadians.”
There have been attacks on temples before as well
This is not the first incident of vandalism in a Hindu temple in Canada. Many such cases have come to light before this. Sometimes anti-India slogans and sometimes something else are written on the walls of temples. After the death of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar, Khalistan supporters in Canada have increased such activities. Nijjar was shot dead in Surrey, British Columbia in June 2023.
