Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh will also be present in this historic swearing-in ceremony of the Dhami government. Along with this, BJP National President JP Nadda and many ministers of BJP ruled states will also be part of the program. According to reports, Dhami and 11 other cabinet members will take oath. The time of oath has been fixed by the Governor at 2:40 pm. The swearing-in ceremony of the Dhami government in Uttarakhand is ‘historic’ as it will be the first time in the state that the previous chief minister has been elected for a second consecutive term. Separated from Uttar Pradesh in the year 2000, Uttarakhand was known for never repeating a government, but Dhami won an unprecedented second consecutive victory in the state in the 2022 assembly elections. Dhami, however, lost his seat of Khatima.
There was doubt in the name of Dhami!
The hill state of Uttarakhand was one of the four states where the BJP won the recent assembly elections. Apart from Uttar Pradesh, the party’s choice for the chief minister’s post was not as clear for other states including Goa and Manipur. But now it has been decided that all the states will see the previous leader in the role of Chief Minister for the next term. Pramod Sawant will continue as Goa CM and Manipur’s Biren Singh was sworn in for another term on Monday.
What can be the agenda of the Dhami government after the formation of the government?
After the formation of the government, Dhami’s agenda is likely to be a Uniform Civil Code. “We will fulfill all the promises made to the people before the elections. Uniform Civil Code is one of them important and we will fulfill it too.”
His defeat in his constituency of Khatima could pose a credibility challenge for one of the youngest chief ministers of the state. He took charge last year after two chief ministers, Trivendra Singh Rawat and Tirath Singh Rawat, stepped down one after the other.
Dhami said, “I thank the people for believing in the vision of the Prime Minister and giving the BJP a big victory. I also thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister, party president JP Nadda and Rajnath Singh, who is the leader of Uttarakhand’s He was the central observer of the party. Showing faith in a common worker and son of a soldier like me.”
The party had won 47 out of 70 seats in the assembly elections, the results of which were declared on March 10.
