Jabalpur, New Dunia Rep. For the five-day festival of Rangotsav, the markets are decorated with colours, gulal, pichkari. At the same time, Holika idols are also being sculpted with simple hands. The sculptor is also very excited about the Holi festival due to the reduction of corona infection. For Holika Dahan, the city sculptors are giving shape to Holika idols by incorporating traditional and modernity. He is hopeful that this time not only the business will be good but the cost of making the idols will also come out. Because due to the restrictions imposed due to the Corona period, the business of sculptors was affected for two years. Now that the corona has reduced, the restrictions have been removed, in such a situation, there is a hope among the sculptors that this time they will definitely get the reward of their hard work.
More than a thousand statues are being sculpted: On March 17, Holika idols are being shaped in Ghamapur, Sheetlamai, Garha area of the city for Holika Dahan. There are more than 20 shops in Sheetlamai area. This time more than 150 to 200 statues of height ranging from three to five feet have been made in each shop. The statues are now being finalised. Sculptors told that due to Corona, in the last years, only 50 statues were sold from barely one shop. But this time more and more statues – are expected to be sold. More than one thousand idols are made in Sheetlamai area itself.
Holika statues are not untouched by rising inflation: Holika statues are also not untouched by the ever-increasing inflation. Idols ranging from Rs 100 to Rs 7,000 are being prepared in the idol market. The expressions of the idols are also made on sight. But the sculptors say that we do not have to make profit from the statues, that is enough for us to get the cost of the idols.

Booking started: Sculptors told that so far the inquiries about the idols have increased due to Holika Dahan. Some people have started booking by paying earnest money. Right now such business is not happening, but two or four days before the festival, there will be a good rapture in the idol market.
