A different scene was seen in the police station area of Mathura district on Friday, when a loving couple reached the police station and started seeking permission for marriage. Seeing this unique case of sudden love and law in the police station, the policemen also became uncomfortable for some time. But taking the matter seriously, the police took appropriate action. After reaching the police station, the permission of marriage will be done, otherwise the youth and the woman from a village in the police station area told the police station in-charge Inspector Jasbir Singh that they both love each other and now want to get married. He also said that if the local administration does not allow him, he will go to Prayagraj and take permission from the High Court.
Family reached, attempt to explain fail
As soon as information was received at the police station, the families of both sides also reached. The family tried to convince both of them to reconsider their decision, but the loving couple said to be firm on their decision. In view of the situation, the police took steps to resolve the case peacefully.
SDM took a statement, said – Both adults, can live on their own
Seeing the seriousness of the case late in the evening, the town outpost in -charge Abhimanyu Malik presented the girl before the Deputy Collector (SDM) Ritu Sirohi. The girl’s statement was recorded there. After recording the statement, SDM Ritu Sirohi clearly stated that, “Both the young man and the woman are adults, and according to the law they are free to choose their spouse. They can marry.” The SDM directed the police to provide complete protection to the loving couple so that no social or family barrier could harm them.
The police departed from the police station
Following the SDM’s order, the police safely sent both of them to their stated place. Police say that security will be provided if needed in view of the sensitivity of the case.
