How many forms are filled each time to become an IAS-IPS, how many are selected?


UPSC: Becoming an IAS-IPS is the dream of lakhs of youth. To fulfill this dream, people in many cities like Prayagraj, Delhi and Patna prepare for years in small rooms. Every year around 10 lakh youth fill the form for UPSC Civil Services Examination. Whereas every year the vacancy is only around one thousand. In this, there are 180 vacancies for IAS and 200 for IPS.

UPSC Civil Services Exam is one of the toughest exams in the country. The final selection in civil services is done after three stages of test. First there is a preliminary exam. In which the questions asked are objective type. After this there is the main exam. Which is descriptive. After this comes the interview round. The final selection is done on the basis of marks obtained in the main exam and interview. Let us know how many youth fill the form every year to become IAS-IPS and how many are finally selected.

How many vacancies in UPSC Civil Services 2024?

13.4 lakh candidates had applied for UPSC Civil Services Examination 2024. Out of which 14627 candidates have been passed for the main examination. There are 1056 vacancies for various services including IAS and IPS through this examination.
