How many hours you should workout in the gym in a day depends on your fitness target, physical ability and desire.

The fitness trainer said that to maintain general fitness, a workout of 30 to 60 minutes 3 to 5 days a week is sufficient. This can include cardio, strength training and flexibility-enhancing exercises. If your goal is to lose weight, then a workout of 45-90 minutes 4 to 6 days a week can be beneficial. This should include cardio, high-intensity exercises and strength training. For muscle building, a workout of 60-90 minutes 3-5 days a week is considered good. In this, there should be fixed days for strength training, weight lifting and rest.

Dev Singh said that 20-30 minutes of workout is sufficient for flexibility and stretching. It can be done daily or can be included after the workout. Apart from this, the workout can be increased to 90-120 minutes to improve athletic performance and sports training, which can include cardio, strength training and sports-specific drills. However, you should workout according to your capacity. Excessive workout can lead to injury and fatigue, so understand the signals of your body and also rest as needed.
