Ranchi. Congress Election Committee has completed the polling on the name of Lok Sabha candidate from Jharkhand. The CEC meeting in Delhi started at 6.30 pm. Congress President Mallika Arjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi and all the leaders of the election committee were present in this meeting. Jharkhand state in-charge Ghulam Ahmed Mir, state president Rajesh Thakur and CLP Alamgir Alam were also present in this meeting.
According to the information, Congress is expected to get 7 Lok Sabha seats in Jharkhand. This is because till now no official announcement has been made regarding seat sharing. But in the CEC meeting, apart from Ranchi, Khunti, Lohardaga, Hazaribagh, Dhanbad, Godda, Congress candidates from Palamu and Chatra seats were discussed. Whereas one seat out of Palamu and Chatra is certain to go to RJD.
Discussion on the names of these candidates
Here on Wednesday, there was talk throughout the day about former Ranchi MP Ramtahal Choudhary and former Giridih MP Ravindra Pandey joining Congress. Both the former MPs have also met top Congress leaders in Delhi. After the CEC meeting, Subodh Kant Sahay from Ranchi, Kalicharan Munda from Khunti, Sukhdev Bhagat from Lohardaga and JP Patel from Hazaribagh are expected to get tickets.
Candidates can be declared at phase level
Much remains unclear regarding Dhanbad, Godda, Chatra and Palamu. According to Congress sources, Congress candidates will be announced at the phase level of Lok Sabha elections. It is said that seat sharing will be announced any time.
