Olympics 2024 is being organized in Paris, the capital of France. This time more than ten thousand athletes are participating in the Olympics. The target of all these athletes will be to win medals for their country. Along with the medal, these athletes would like to hoist the flag of their country on the big stage. Apart from all this, there is definitely a question in everyone’s mind that how much money is given as prize money apart from the medal to the athletes who win gold, silver or bronze medals in the Olympics. So let us tell you that traditionally, giving cash prizes to the players in the Olympic Games has been avoided. The athlete who wins a medal in the Olympics is not given anything as prize money by the IOA. Although the governments of the countries and the National Sports Association have been honoring the athletes in the form of cash prizes for their achievements in the Olympic Games, but this time the International Federation has also announced the awards.

These federations announced the prize money

This time World Athletics has announced prize money for the athletes who win gold medals in track and field events in the Olympics this year. They have announced a cash prize of 50 thousand US dollars for the athletes who win gold medals. Apart from this, the International Boxing Federation has also promised to give a cash prize of one lakh US dollars to the players who win gold medals in all categories. Which is 83.5 lakhs in Indian rupees. However, not every federation agrees with this idea of prize money. Some federations are against this idea. They believe that giving prize money is against the spirit of the Olympics and it harms the game of the players. On the other hand, some sports bodies believe that players should be rewarded for their hard work.

This much reward for Indian players

India is expecting a lot of medals in the Olympics this time. The 7 athletes of India who won medals for the country last time were also given some money by the Government of India. The Government of India gave 75 lakh rupees to Neeraj Chopra, who won the gold medal last time. Apart from this, the Indian Olympic Association also gave a separate reward of 10 million rupees to the athletes. Apart from all this, some amount was also given by the state government. This time no prize money has been announced by the Government of India regarding the Olympics, but the players who win medals will definitely be given something by the government. Before going to the Olympics, the Prime Minister of India also met the players.
