How to identify oral cancer in the early stages
Dr. Aditya Sarin says that it is usually difficult to identify any type of cancer in the beginning but we can guess based on some signs. When mouth cancer occurs, changes start appearing in the mouth. There is difficulty in eating food, difficulty in swallowing, ulcers inside the mouth or on the roof of the tongue start appearing. Lips and tongue become numb. White and red patches start appearing in the lining of the mouth and tongue. This problem is such that it does not get cured even by taking medicine. Loosening of teeth, formation of red patches inside the mouth, pain in the mouth, pain in the ears etc. are also the initial signs of mouth cancer.

How to detect throat cancer in the early stages
Dr. Aditya Sarin told that when someone has throat cancer, he coughs a lot. The voice becomes heavy and changes. There is also difficulty in speaking. Along with this, in throat cancer, there is pain in the ear and a wound appears in the throat which does not heal with medicine. Apart from this, in throat cancer, weight starts decreasing rapidly. A lump may also appear in the throat and this can lead to the onset of throat cancer.

Causes of mouth and throat cancer
Dr. Aditya Sarin said that cigarettes or smoking is responsible for most cases of mouth and throat cancer. Apart from this, consumption of gutkha or tobacco products causes throat and mouth cancer. Whether it is mouth cancer or throat cancer, DNA mutation occurs in both. There is no exact information about why DNA mutation occurs. But smoking, gutkha, smoking are the major reasons for this. HPV virus and alcohol can also be responsible for throat cancer. Human papilloma virus (HPV) is a sexually transmitted disease. That is, oral or throat cancer can also occur due to oral relations.

These people are at higher risk of mouth and throat cancer
Dr. Aditya Sarin said that people who consume gutkha, tobacco, cigarettes, and alcohol are at a higher risk of throat or mouth cancer. If you already have an infection of the HPV virus, then there is also a risk of cancer. Apart from this, if there is a lack of green vegetables and fruits in your diet, then there is a high risk of oral and throat cancer. Stomach disease GERD and being exposed to toxic chemicals are also at risk of cancer.

What are the ways to avoid it
Dr. Aditya Sarin says that to avoid oral and throat cancer, first of all stop consuming cigarettes, alcohol, tobacco, gutkha etc. For this, take the help of protective measures while having sex, use safe equipment before having oral sex. At the same time, to avoid any kind of cancer, it is important to consume green leafy seasonal vegetables and fresh fruits daily. Along with this, regular exercise is also necessary.
