HSGMC set up a sub-committee to prepare the annual budget

The Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (HSGMC) has formed a nine-member sub-committee to prepare its annual budget for 2025-26. According to the information, a general meeting meeting was called by HSGMC on Wednesday to pass an annual budget of more than Rs 100 crore. However, after the lack of clarity in the budget proposals under the bus and income categories, the budget was not passed and the committee finished the eight-hour long meeting with the formation of a sub-committee to prepare a new budget. The budget of HSGMC is Rs 104 crore and this will be the first budget after the Haryana Committee elections.

HSGMC head Jagdish Singh Jinda said that a meeting of a general meeting was called on Wednesday to discuss HSGMC’s budget of Rs 104 crore. After the budget was presented, we started discussing this and asked all the members to express their views. During the discussion, it was found that there are many issues in the budget and there is a lack of clarity about the expenses to be incurred and the source of income. There should have been complete knowledge about the anchor, transport, religious publicity and other expenses. It seems that the people who prepare the budget have tried to mislead the committee and hide the previous scams. This decision has been taken with the aim of making the budget transparent. During the meeting, all 49 members unanimously decided that a nine-member sub-committee should be formed to prepare a fresh budget. Instructions have been given to prepare it in 15 days. The HSGMC chief further said that it has also been decided that the chief auditors of SGPC and Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (DSGMC) will also be included to prepare HSGMC budget. Along with seven members of HSGMC, two main auditors of SGPC and DSGMC will prepare the budget. It was also decided that HSGMC will also be audited from 2014. He said that managers of all gurudwaras have also been instructed to make details of monthly expenses on a board in each gurudwara, so that all information can be shared with Sangat. Meanwhile, Chairman of the Religion Prachar Committee, Baljit Singh Daduwal said that HSGMC has objected to referring to Sikh warrior Banda Singh Bahadur as Veer Bairagi in an advertisement of Haryana Government and has asked to improve it. Meanwhile, HSGMC also celebrated ‘Black Day’ to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Emergency. The program was organized by the committee to honor the persons and their family members who were jailed during the Emergency. Several senior leaders of the Sikh community attended the event.
