Kolkata. CM Mamata Banerjee is facing criticism in the case of rape and murder of a doctor in RG Kar Medical College in Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal. Along with BJP, CPM, Congress has also raised questions on the functioning of Mamata Banerjee and the government. Now in this case, the lawyer of the doctor’s family has also made serious allegations against Mamata Banerjee.
Vikas Ranjan Bhattacharya, the lawyer of the deceased doctor’s family, targeted Mamata Banerjee while talking to news agency ANI. Lawyer Vikas Ranjan Bhattacharya has described Mamata Banerjee’s role as very reprehensible. The lawyer said that wherever rape happens, Mamata Banerjee immediately wants to contact the victim’s family and gives them money and says that now everything is settled. The lawyer said about Mamata Banerjee that unfortunately the West Bengal CM has fixed a rate card for rape victims. He also made a serious allegation that Mamata Banerjee tries to buy witnesses. He also alleged that this happened in the doctor’s case as well and the family refused to take any money.

Earlier, while talking to the media on Sunday, the doctor’s father and mother had questioned Mamata Banerjee over the rape and murder of their daughter. The doctor’s father and mother had clearly said that Mamata Banerjee’s government and Kolkata Police did not work properly in this case. The incident of rape and murder of the female doctor took place on the intervening night of 8 and 9 August 2024. The postmortem report has revealed that the doctor was brutally treated. One accused has been arrested in this case. The Calcutta High Court has handed over the investigation of the case to the CBI. It is alleged that there are not one but many accused of rape and murder. Doctors angry with this case are protesting across the country.
