In fact, a few days ago, Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari made a controversial statement regarding Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in Aurangabad district. In his statement, he had said that the way who would ask Chandragupta without Chanakya, in the same way who would ask Shivaji without understanding? Guru has a lot of importance in life. There has been a ruckus in the state after this statement.
On the other hand, BJP workers raised slogans sitting on the steps of Vidhan Bhavan against the decision of not removing Nawab Malik from his post. Last week, the Enforcement Directorate arrested state Minority Affairs Minister Nawab Malik in connection with a money laundering probe into the activities of fugitive gangster Dawood Ibrahim and his associates.
On Thursday too, BJP MLAs led by Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Devendra Fadnavis, LOP in the Legislative Council Pravin Darekar and State BJP President Chandrakant Patil raised slogans against the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government of Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress.
Fadnavis had said that this MVA government is sympathetic to those who helped the (1993) Mumbai bombing convict Dawood Ibrahim and his associates. We oppose the decision to retain Malik as a minister even though a minister has been removed earlier due to some allegations.
Fadnavis said a first-time minister (Nawab Malik) is behind bars but his resignation has not been accepted. this is wrong. He has not been sent to jail for any petty case, he has been accused of money laundering along with Dawood Ibrahim. Why does the LPO not want to accept his resignation in the Maharashtra Assembly? This is the Dawood Sharan government. This government is coming together to save those who have links with Dawood. That’s why we started the protest. We want Malik’s resignation to be taken immediately.
At the same time, Manisha Kayande from Shiv Sena said that what is the governor referring to? He didn’t need to say. I think he is with BJP and he has raised the controversy as soon as the session started.
The budget session, which started on Thursday, will continue till March 25. The BJP said that it wants the budget session to be utilized properly and that it wants to discuss the issues provided Nawab Malik is suspended. On this, MVA leaders said that BJP is taking recourse to central agencies to target the state government.
