Ankara: There has been an uproar in Turkey after the murder of Ismail Haniya alias Ismail Haniyeh. The uproar increased after the death of Ismail Haniya on the social media networking site Instagram. Turkey banned the social site after the uproar on Instagram over Haniya’s death. People were continuously expressing various reactions on Instagram on the death of Ismail Haniya alias Ismail Haniyeh. But later a move by Instagram led to a conflict with the government. Later, looking at the situation, Turkey’s Communication Authority blocked access to the social media platform ‘Instagram’ on Friday.
Turkey’s Information and Communication Technology Authority announced this decision on Friday morning, but did not give any reason for it. The ban on Instagram after the killing of Ismail Haniya in Turkey caused an uproar. The government-close newspaper ‘Yeni Safak’ and other media institutions reported that ‘Instagram’ has removed the posts of people in Turkey who expressed condolences over the killing of Hamas political leader Ismail Haniya and in response to this, access to the platform was blocked.

There was no immediate comment from Instagram on the allegations made by Turkey. Turkey has a population of 85 million. Instagram has more than 50 million users. It is being told that after the death of Ismail Haniyeh, people were expressing many types of reactions and emotions about the Hamas chief on Instagram.
