Ankara: There has been an uproar in Turkey after the murder of Ismail Haniya alias Ismail Haniyeh. The uproar increased after the death of Ismail Haniya on the social media networking site Instagram. Later, looking at the situation, Turkey’s Communication Authority blocked access to the social media platform ‘Instagram’ on Friday.
Turkey’s Information and Communication Technology Authority announced this decision on Friday morning, but did not give any reason for it. The government-close newspaper ‘Yeni Safak’ and other media institutions reported that ‘Instagram’ has removed the posts of people in Turkey who expressed condolences over the killing of Hamas political leader Ismail Haniya and in response to this, access to the platform was blocked.
