An elderly woman was burnt alive due to fire in a flat in Panchsheel Colony of Tila Mor area in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. It was told that the main gate of the flat was closed and she could not walk. On Sunday, she got scorched and lost her life due to fire under suspicious circumstances. On receiving the information, the police and fire brigade team reached the spot. When the team went inside while extinguishing the fire, an elderly woman was found in a burnt condition. Initial investigation revealed that the elderly woman was unable to walk. She was alone at home at the time of the accident and the main gate was closed from outside. His son and family members went out of some work at the time of the accident. At present, the police is searching CCTV footage around the house. Police is investigating.

ACP Shalimar Garden said that the police received information about a fire inside the 2 -storey flat in Panchsheel Colony. A police team was immediately sent. When the police arrived, the smoke was coming out from inside the flat. During this time the fire brigade team was informed. The fire brigade extinguished the fire and when the team went inside, the elderly woman was found in a burnt condition in a room. He was identified as Bhagwati. She was unable to walk. The flat was closed from outside. The elder’s son Somdutt is a cab driver. She lived in the house with her daughter -in -law and 2 grandchildren and a granddaughter. Police said Somdutt had gone to his in -laws in Nandanagari with his family at around 11.30 am. It is estimated that the fire will be around around one to one and a quarter. The police was informed about the fire at around 1.30 pm.

The elderly woman was suffering from diabetes and her hips had an operation. She was unable to walk more and used a walker. At the same time, it is believed that she would have tried to get out of the room to avoid the fire, but she could not escape the fire.
