Nawagarh. Under the Chief Minister’s Kanya Vivah Yojana, 35 couples became each other by taking seven rounds with chanting. Hundreds of hands, including the Nawagarh district president, raised their hands to bless the couples. As a gift, material and cash were provided to all the couples by the department.
Under the joint aegis of Women and Child Development Department, Nawagarh and Nandghat, 35 couples of brides and grooms got married in Nawagarh. In which 24 pairs were from Nawagarh project and 11 pairs were from Nandghat project. Vedic chants and all the rituals of marriage were performed according to Hindu marriage tradition by the Gayatri family at the venue. After welcoming all the 35 bridegrooms, dancing and singing in musical instruments were brought to the venue. There was a lot of enthusiasm among the relatives of the bride and groom and the villagers regarding this marriage.
After the marriage of the bride and groom with the chants, Nawagarh Janpad Panchayat President Anjali Satish Markandeya, Nawagarh Nagar Panchayat President Tilak Ghosh, Maro Nap President Parmeshwar Miri, Janpad member Sahodara Sahu and Councilor Lata Jaiswal, MLA representative Montu Tiwari and other public representatives. Including hundreds of people blessed. District President Anjali said that this scheme has been brought by the government with the aim of preventing extravagance in marriage and discouraging the dowry system. In today’s era, celebrations like marriage have become very expensive, in such a situation, this event by the Department of Women and Child Development is nothing less than a charitable work. During this, Nandghat Project Officer Vidyanand Borkar, Khandsara Project Officer Leena Dewan, Vasundhara Jogi, Amita Srivastava, Radha Tandon and employees and family members were present.

Project Officer Sasaraswati Chandravanshi said that all the couples who got married have also been given household items like cupboards, mattresses, tables, utensils, fans and other things. He said that this scheme is proving to be a boon in eradicating social evils like female feticide, dowry system. Especially the poor people are getting a lot of benefit from this scheme. For poor parents, it has proved to be helpful in removing the worry of daughter’s marriage.
