A heartbreaking incident has come to light from Kannauj district, in which a husband declared his wife dead and recited her shraddha and peace on social media. This person named Pawan Patel, while paying tribute to the picture of his wife Pooja, wrote, “Give peace to the soul of Lord Puja.” She did all this to do another marriage, while Pooja was living in her maternal home with her children.
The matter came to light when Pooja, who is a resident of Kidwai Nagar in Kanpur, met Kannauj SP Amit Kumar Anand for the rights of her children. Pooja told the SP that her husband Pawan Patel kidnapped her two sons. Pooja said that she was married to Pawan Patel, a resident of Bhawanisarai in Talagram area of Kannauj and has two children on 12 March 2009.
Pooja further stated that Pawan Patel ran away with another woman about two and a half years ago, which led to a dispute between them. After this, Pooja went to her maternal home with her children. He also came to know that Pawan had married another and is living with the new wife.
In June 2023, Pooja came to know through social media that Pawan declared her dead on social media. Pawan shared the post on 23 June 2023, garlanding the picture of Pooja, burning a lamp and incense sticks, in which he wrote, “Give peace to the soul of Lord Pooja.” After this, on 23 July 2023, he posted another post, which mentioned the shraddha and Shanti recitation of Pooja.
Pooja alleged that Pawan had done all this only to justify her second marriage. This incident has caused sensation in Kanpur and Kannauj and people are condemning this act.
Pooja has pleaded with the Kannauj Superintendent of Police to give him justice and his children should be given back from their father. The police has started investigating the case.
This incident is considered very serious in terms of social and morality, because declaring someone dead while alive is not only against the law but is also very painful for the family. Justice is now expected to get justice for worship so that she can live a right life with her children.
