Pankaj is also a bank employee. Pankaj Batra’s mother also lived with them. But soon after the marriage, there was a rift between Pankaj and Shikha. Due to this, just a month after marriage, Shikha started living in her father Satish Agarwal’s house in Neemkathana.
The husband had called his wife to the park
Police investigation revealed that on June 16 at 7 pm, Pankaj Batra called Shikha and asked her to meet him at Nehru Park Ground. After that, when Shikha did not return home till 9 pm, the family started searching for her. The family members kept searching for both of them till late night. Their car was also not found. On this, Shikha’s father Satish informed the police control room about her disappearance. The police traced the location of Shikha and Pankaj’s mobile. During this time, Shikha’s mobile location was coming near Khadra. Whereas Pankaj Batra’s phone was coming switched off.
Shikha’s father got a case filed against his son-in-law
The next day, on June 17, Shikha Agarwal’s body was found lying on the roadside in the Jir valley. The police informed her family about this. Shikha’s father Satish Agarwal filed a report against Pankaj Batra, his mother and maternal grandfather Dharampal for harassing and murdering her for dowry. Considering the seriousness of the case, a special team was formed on the instructions of Superintendent of Police Praveen Nayak Nunavat. Along with videography of the crime scene, investigation was conducted by the mobile forensic team of Sikar. Investigation was started on the basis of evidence found on the spot.
Strangled in a car in a deserted place
The role of the deceased’s husband Pankaj Batra appeared suspicious in the incident. When the police connected the dots, the whole case became crystal clear. Investigation revealed that on the day of the incident, the accused Pankaj had come to Nehru Park Ground with his wife Shikha Agarwal. From here, on the pretext of a stroll, he took Shikha to Jir ki Ghati in his luxury car. The two parked the car at a deserted spot on the roadside and started talking. During this time, Pankaj strangled Shikha to death in the car itself. Later, he pulled the body out of the car and pushed it into a ditch on the roadside.
The accused confessed to the murder
According to the police, the accused carried out the crime in a planned manner. Later he fled with the car. The police team has arrested the accused Pankaj Batra from near the bypass on Patan Road after a lot of hard work. During interrogation, the accused Pankaj has confessed to killing Shikha. To escape from the police, Pankaj had thrown Shikha’s mobile at another place. During interrogation, he told that he carried out the crime due to rift and discord in the relationship.
