Action taken against inter-state gang that duped people by promising to double their money. Ramgarh police arrested five people and recovered Rs 3 lakh 86 thousand. People from Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand are involved in the interstate gang.
Javed Khan/Ramgarh. Ramgarh district police of Jharkhand has arrested five members of an inter-state gang involved in duping people by promising to double their money. They were found with Rs 3 lakh 86 thousand in cash, nine mobile phones and a car near the Barka Kana police station square on the Ramgarh-Patratu four lane. The gang members used to first deceive people by telling them that the money was black money and then transfer money to their accounts to convert it into white money. After this, they used to say that they would return double the amount in cash in installments. After transferring the money, the gang members used to threaten the person and make him run away.
The criminals caught include Dhanashree Shanteshwar Vijay Kumar of Latur in Maharashtra, Haider Ali of Kasimabad in Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh, Lakshmikant of Korra police station area of Hazaribagh and Abhiram Kumar Singh and Rajkumar Pandey of Baid Bigha of Rajpur police station area of Chatra district. Ramgarh SP Ajay Kumar told in a press conference that all of them were passing through Barkakana area in a white car, when the police team including Barkakana SDPO Patratu Birendra Ram and OP in-charge Akhtar Ali caught them.
SP said that as soon as they saw the police, they got out of the car and started running. Two agreement papers, nine mobiles and cash worth Rs 3.86 lakh along with 14 bundles of paper containing Rs 500 notes have been recovered from them. They used to make these bundles by pasting real Rs 500 notes in the upper part of the bundles and used to deceive people. This is being considered a big success of Ramgarh police.
