New Delhi. Recently, a report was released by Banaras Hindu University (BHU) regarding the side effects of Covaxin administered to people during the Corona period. Now a new controversy has started in this matter. The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has reacted strongly to this research by BHU scientists and sent a notice seeking answers. According to the information received by BHU, now a committee of four members has been constituted by it to investigate this entire matter. Appropriate response has been sought from the members of the inquiry committee in this matter in the next 2 to 3 days.
BHU study on side effects of Covaxin erroneously acknowledges ICMR. ICMR cannot be associated with this poorly designed study which purports to present a “safety analysis” of Covaxin: DG ICMR, Dr Rajiv Bahl

ICMR Director General Dr. Rajiv Bahl said, ICMR cannot be linked to this poorly designed study. Dr. Rajiv Bahl has written a letter saying that the name of ICMR should be removed from it and an corrigendum should also be published in this regard. In fact, last week, some claims were made by the Department of Geriatrics and Pharmacology of BHU about the side effects of Covaxin vaccine on people. This claim was made by Professor Shubh Shankh Chakraborty, Head of the Department of Geriatrics, and Dr. Upinder Kaur, associated with the Department of Pharmacology. Since then the discussion regarding this matter is going on.
Let us tell you that before this, AstraZeneca, the company making Covishield, has admitted in a British court last month that this vaccine can have some fatal consequences. AstraZeneca admitted that the Covishield vaccine may cause side effects such as thrombocytopenia syndrome (TTS). Due to TTS syndrome, blood clots start forming in the body or platelets start falling rapidly in the body. Due to formation of blood clots in the body, the risk of brain stroke or heart attack increases.
