New Delhi. Controversy has also heated up regarding the recruitment scheme Agneepath in the central government’s army. Now the politics has started regarding the demand of caste and religion certificate from the candidates. Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh, JDU leader Upendra Kushwaha have raised questions on the demand for caste certificate in military recruitment. Meanwhile, Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh’s response has come to the fore on the questions raised regarding the demand for caste certificate under the Agneepath scheme. He himself has given an answer to the opposition on the controversy demanding caste and religion certificate. At the same time, he termed these questions as mere rumours.
While talking to the media, Rajnath Singh said that, I want to make it clear that the system which was already independent, till now the same system is going on. The system that has been in place since 1949. That arrangement continues even today. There has been no change in the process of military recruitment. He made this statement while leaving the Parliament House.
This is completely rumour. The system which was there earlier, the old system which was running before independence is going on. No changes have been made. Army gave clarification-
Earlier, the reaction of the army came when caste and religion certificates were asked for in military recruitment. Military officials have said that there has been no change in the military recruitment process under the Agneepath scheme. In the past also, caste and religion certificate has been sought for army recruitment.
On the other hand, BJP’s national spokesperson Sambit Patra has fiercely heard the opposition raising questions about the Agneepath scheme. Patra said in a press conference that, a controversy is being created deliberately about this scheme. There has been no change in the military recruitment process.
