Aspen: If America stops helping Ukraine, what will happen to President Zelensky? US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has made a big statement about such a situation. His indication was clear that if power changes in America and Donald Trump’s government comes to power, then Ukraine may get less or stop getting American support. But in such a situation, Blinken has responded to how Ukraine will be able to deal with Russia again. Antony Blinken has said that Ukraine is on the path to becoming capable of “standing on its own feet” from a military level.

He said that even if the US decides to stop the aid to Ukraine under the rule of any other president, more than 20 countries have pledged to continue military and financial aid to this country facing Russian aggression. For the first time, Blinken has directly expressed the possibility that Donald Trump may win the presidential election in November and stop the aid to Ukraine. Under the leadership of President Joe Biden, the US has been Ukraine’s most important ally in the war with Russia for more than two years. Trump’s stand on US aid to Ukraine has not been clear. He has sometimes criticized and sometimes supported the Biden administration’s decision to provide military aid to the war-torn country.

Trump’s running mate JD Vance is already opposing more aid to Ukraine

Republican vice presidential candidate JD Vance has been advocating stopping the billions of dollars of military and financial aid given by the US to Ukraine. Blinken said on Friday that any new administration would have to keep in mind that the bipartisan support Ukraine has in the US Parliament is in the interest of dealing with President Vladimir Putin’s efforts to increase Russia’s territory and influence. Addressing US lawmakers and others at the ‘Aspen Security Forum’ in Colorado, Blinken said, “Of course, every administration has a chance to determine its policy, but we cannot determine the future.”

20 countries will continue to help Ukraine

Blinken pointed to security agreements signed by the US and more than 20 other allies at the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) summit in Washington this month. These allies include NATO partners, Japan and the European Union. He said, “Will we turn away from that. I think it’s possible, but the good news is that there are about 20 countries that are willing to help.” Blinken said Ukraine is on its way to becoming able to “stand on its own feet” militarily, economically and democratically.
